Most Saturdays from 12pm to 2pm I present the request show on Hospital Radio Reading (@hrreading). You can tune in online from anywhere and via the bedside TVs in the wards.
How does it work? I start by visiting the wards and asking the patients what they would like to hear. I then go back to the studios and play them, simple!
To the outsider the idea of a radio station in hospital might seem a bit strange. What’s the point? The point is to cheer up people, who are unfortunately stuck in hospital, whilst having fun on the radio.
Here is a recent call from a patient in the the Children’s wards to my show. A call like this makes it all worth while. It’s great to know our station is doing its bit to try and make life in hospital a little more bearable.
